wow this post is pretty enlightening. hmmmmm. i m flying to japan 21 days later. so exciting!! my mum and dad are not going with us (me and younger sis). We are going 2 days earlier than them....so worried that get lost at airport cant find my elder sis.....hmmmmm. better learn some japanese...Gambatte!!
Konichiwa, watashi weizhen san desk. the best is" ikura desk ka?" (how much does this cost)heh heh hey hey i know some japanese one hor!!
tue i went to hpb for briefing, this forensic dentist(yes there is such thing) gave a talk. he went to ground zero(kao lak---dunno how to spell, but is near phuket and is worst hit by the tsunami) for 3 weeks. So interesting, the sea retreated far out until the ships touched sand just a few minutes before the disaster hit.then the locals converted a temple to become a mortuary. then the volunteers from all over the world came and helped out.swedes, koreans, japan, india, UK, US, Finland the list goes on....
am i getting boring? heres the interesting part. the victims were first checked for whether fingerprints can be obtained. 2nd stn is body autopsy. 3rd stn is the the slowest dental team. teeth(fillings, crowns) were charted, with one being a dirty dentist and one clean dentist. the dirty dentist does all the dirty work lah....xrays were taken. neck was cut with scalpel untilt the whole jaws were exposed. jaws were dislocated until later put back put back the face flap(like face lift like that) so that the relatives can claim back. Interesting things were this pic showing 2 cupboards one" Staionary" another posted there was"stationery" god those ang moh are so damn funny
and 4 of my frends volunteered to go to the next disaster. wah lau i really kow tow to them. the place is very shocking though interesting...one pic shows a "coffin" (wood container used to bury the victims) being used as a table to put snacks. And the funny thing was it wrote" Happy Coffin Cafe'...god this pple are seriously gre8 pple
wow..ur friend eliss sure knows how to make herself comfortable in a comment box..

Eliss:
AH! REALLY! So fun... ;-) Hope you get to shop for really cool girly stuff. Teehee. Eh, i guess your handphones may not work because Japan only allows certain brands of phones?
Think of it as an adventure, independency! Worse comes to worse, just stay at the airport lor. Hahah, no lah, i'm very sure that your sister will find you, just make a joint decision to meet at the service station or something like that.
Yeah, i've heard of such lengths to which people have to be identified... by their dental records. Amazing how dentists have a place in forensics too ya? ;-) Actually i wasn't bored, would've loved to watch the video too. And yeah, don't you just marvel at how the human spirit is able to conjure stuff like that so as to keep them going... psychologically and all, or for whatever other reason.
If you found it fascinating, why not give it a shot too? May really change your life. :-)
germaine:
Heh, i velcum oll who weeshes to speek. :-D Fun to hear all sorts of stuff!
*snigger* Shooting *what* outdoors eh, right? i'm morbid, but i couldn't... wait, i can hurt a fly, but i wouldn't be able to take a human life, unless it was accidental. (which almost could've happened if someone was walking behind the shooting range when i fired a shot outside the range accidentally while training with a new triggering device. >.<)
Heh, so are ya gonna do the meme too? 0.0 C'mon!
Ah well, as for trust, i don't mind sharing these harmless things about myself. :-)
no leh i dun plan to buy much in japan. so expensive....probably some things i really need, haiz time flies i have to go back to my sch agn...i hate to go primary sch lor. not fun at all. at least the gers sch pple thanked me evrytime. not like pri sch talk to them also no use.
eliss:
what are some things from Japan that you'll really need?
oh well, i guess it's just not fun talking to a bunch of kids who don't really understand or take things seriously but think of it as a good deed you're doing on their behalf. :-)
Until this day, i still remember the dentist stationed at my primary school, and can't say i liked her very much cos she didn't understand what i was going through when she was poking and proding and scratching and my throat was so dry by then! Plus, she was kinda fierce, so didn't dare to speak my mind.
i think alot of pple had bad memories abt dental therapists, dentists, dental nurses. quite common. i can understand that sometimes we are so busy we kinda neglect the feelings of children. and the common fear that it is going to be very painful what not.fighting a losing battle when even teachers influenced them to think it is surely going to be painful and that sure pluck teeth at dentist
Eliss:
Well said, girl.
But hey, you have the potential to become the dental therapist everyone loves! :-)
